WWII British MkII Brodie Helmet 1940 RO&Co Liner Chinstrap Original Grey Paint
WWII British Army MkII Brodie combat helmet, manufactured in 1940 by R.O. & Co. (Rubery Owen & Co. Ltd.). This example retains its original grey painted finish, complete liner, and chin strap. The inside rim is stamped "R.O.& Co - F1 - 1940 - II," confirming its WWII production and maker.
The MkII steel helmet replaced the earlier MkI design in 1938 and was standard issue for British and Commonwealth forces during WWII. This helmet’s grey finish suggests possible Civil Defence or Home Front use, as military combat-issued versions were typically khaki green. The split screw crown bolt and intact liner are period correct, and the chin strap is original.
